Mind on Autopilot?

Have you noticed that your brain is on autopilot, here are some tips to increase your focus and turn your attention back to the present moment.

Is your Mind on Autopilot, and how does it effect us in our daily lives.

Our attention is being swept up by a never-ending and not always positive or current thinking. By being mindful we are able to wake up and step out of the that current place and focus our attention and place it where we choose.

Benefits of mindfulness-Stress and anxiety reduction.

Take a mindful minute and engage in breath this will reignite our parasympathetic nervous system.  This system is the rest and digest response it is meant to act as a brake, it signals your body and lets you know that it is okay to slow down and that you are not in any immediate danger, this will also prevent the fight or flight response from activating.

By practicing some simple breathing techniques this can help levels of anxiety and stop the brain from activating your anxiety from the extreme levels. I have incorporated some short breathing exercises to help.

What is mindfulness?

Mindfulness is the intentional act of paying attention of the present moment and being fully engaged.  By being aware of the present moment it also pulls us from the preoccupation of the past and future thoughts that may not be more harm then good.  When you feel that you are trapped in a memory of the past that doesn’t serve a purpose simply repeat to your self theses words:

Bring yourself back to the present moment.  The more times this is repeated and created as a habit your brain will automatically do this for you without having to step in.
