Stress is unavoidable function of life however, too much can cause health problems and mental clarity issues. In order to keep your mind and body functioning it is important to do some brain exercises.
Here are some effective brain exercises that can ease and relieve stress:
Mindful Meditation
Mindfulness meditation may even increase the brain’s ability to deal with or cope with stressful situations.
Writing Thoughts Down
If you had a stressful day, it has shown to be beneficial to write down your thoughts and feelings. This can help your brain organize and sort through things that maybe causing stress.
Focused Breathing
There are a few methods of breathing techniques, a simple on would be counting in 1-2-3 and exhaling for 1-2-3. As you do this slowly with control and focusing in on the breath that you take in and out.
Body Scan
To do this simply lie down and concentrate on the crown of your head. As you move your awareness down and throughout your body until you reach the very tips of your toes. This can also be done in reverse. Some people who have tried this exercise say that it reduces stress and have an easier time falling asleep.
Soothing Thoughts
Replacing unpleasant thoughts with soothing ones is an intuitive, it is a way to stop stress from building. Introduce pleasant thoughts or scenes, you are essentially not allowing your body to fixate on anxiety or stress.
Share your Thoughts
Picking up the phone or sharing your thoughts with a loved one is another technique that may reduce stress. By venting and allowing your stressors out and having someone else hear them in a supportive manner, it allows stress to escape, allowing you to cope, having someone hear your troubles help you gain perspective and become more calm.
Laugh
Laughing is not only superficial way to seemingly reduce stress, anxiety and depression. It can also reduce stress hormones while increasing positive corporeal responses, such as immune cells, laughter wakes up organs and improves the body intake of oxygen-rich air. Laughing can increase endorphins in the brain.
